Fortified Homes: Redfish

The coastal location of this Florida residence faces several potential threats. We have used Fortified for Safer Living guidelines in order to increase the safety and stability of its construction. Structurally, this home supersedes national building code, and it uses impact resistant windows. The structure is constructed of insulated concrete form (ICF) which allows resistance to wall damage, extreme wind, earthquakes, flooding and fire. Additionally, we raised the living spaces, providing beneficial storage and utility space on the ground level, and most importantly flood mitigation.
